Application Icon Text Titles Trailing Off

Quick question folks. The application icon names in some of my apps do not show completely, the last one or two, or more characters trail off and are invisible. Example, the K at the end of Yellowbook, the ry.com at the end of Dictionary.com, the dia at the end of Quickpedia all trail off and are not visible below the respective icons. This is common with multiple apps on my screens. Is this a common finding or is something up? I'm heading over to Verizon this afternoon to investigate unless you folks have an answer. There's only so much room allocated at the bottom of the icons for text. Once that length is exceeded, the rest of the text won't display.

The alternative is an app called better cut from the market. Yo can rename the icons, even change the icons completely if you wish using icon packs ie making them look like iPhone icons, blackberry icons etc and many other themed stuff.
