Help application launcher

Today my LG Optimus V started doing this thing where when I have my phone on I keep getting a message that says "Sorry! the application launcher (process com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.". There is only a button that says "Force Close" and when I hit that my screen shows only the background for a second, then the apps show, then the message shows again. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fix it?
 
I had it happen once or twice. Never more than a handful of times. I use Go Launcher instead. Might give an alternate launcher a try.
 
The launcher crashed if it only happened once it is no big deal but if is a reacquiring thing then you might want to consider switching to a different launcher.
 
i had this happen a week after i got my V

launcher started going into a force close loop (still does it too... longest it will go without a force close is maybe 10 seconds) i was annoyed and thought i'd have to do a factory reset and redownload everything but someone at work suggested i install adw which introduced me to the world of launcher replacements

i use launcher pro (well a modded version (LP Sense UI)) now

just go to the market and install a few launchers (plenty of good suggestions here) and play around with them for a while and pick the one you like best... 2 options to get there 1. open the market app before the launcher force closes 2. login to the market on your pc and install the launchers from there
