Application like facebook

Hello, i am a final year student and i have undertaken a challenge of building a project on android.
Our university(VIT) has a web site which is like Facebook where we have various forums,chats,etc etc.

VidyalankarLive.com or m.vidyalankarlive.com

here every student is given a login and students can post new messages and such a thing.
My aim is to create an application for android which will be like facebook where people are provided with login followed by various things chatting, new posts, posting new threads or comments, editing their profiles, etc.

I need help on how should i start with developing the application??

Anyways, it would be helpful to know what programming experience you have to let you know where to start.

yeah i have worked on various languages(like java, VB, etc etc...) and also have gone through various tutotials on android...

but i dont know how should it be actually organised??

I cant really tell you how to organize your code as that is too much information to write in a post But I can offer some pointers to things that you may find helpfull

I'd also brush up on sockets in Android,and loading data from a URL, those might be good places to start.

Try something easy 1st, like just get one type of message read from the URL.

It's all about "baby steps"
