Help Application locked on devive IMEI

Hi! I have an application that is locked and only opens when it detects a specific android IMEI. I have changed my phone's IMEI with IMEI changer (xposed) and it seemed to work. To be more specific, a friend bought this application, they sent it to him and he sent the apk to me. The app is locked to his IMEI and when I changed my IMEI to his, the app opened normally. This app is not on playstore. Is there a way to edit the application and replace his IMEI with mine so that it detects my phone's and boots normally. Thank you.
