Appropriate Abbreviation

Samsung Galaxy S3 = SGS3
Galaxy S3 = GS3
Samsung Galaxy 3 = SG3

OK, which one is it? I know it's stupid, but I keep seeing all of them all over this forum...which one is it?

I think I might just start calling it the MPIBTYP. My Phone Is Better Than Your Phone!

I think they are all the same. The full name would be samsung galaxy s3. The others are just people calling it slightly different names but talking about the same device.

Correct all are the same just referred to by different names

I just call it the S3. It very popular, so I think that's what people naturally think of when you refer to a phone that way.

I've always used SGS2 and SGS3 so you can mix those in where discussions include processors.

Someone here talked about his S4 phone and a lot of people jumped down his throat for no such thing. He meant of course his USA SGS3 using the S4 processor.

YMMV.

When you boot the phone (AT&T) it shows us "Samsung Galaxy S III" so an abeviation of that should be (in my opinion at least) SGSIII................

SGS3 is faster to type.

lennydude beat me to it: SIII for purists and there's no need to specify "Samsung" or "Galaxy" since nobody else makes them and the S depicts a two-arm spiral galaxy.

Abbreviations, well, abbreviate and S3 is the shortest (isn't the the whole point?), therefore anything other than "S3" undermines the purpose by being inefficient.
