Did it come from China, bought from Ebay or Alibaba or something?

I'm almost certain you've got a tablet that was designed and intended for use here in mainland China (PRC). Which basically means NO Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Google Play, etc. It's probably got apps like QQ, Weixin, Sina, Weibo, Tudou, Youku, Tuding, 56.com, etc. instead.

You'd probably have to find a way of re-flashing the software(ROM) to something that's not so Chinese. But if we don't know the manufacturer, that could be quite difficult I'm afraid.

Have you tried any of the app APKs from sites like slideme.org on your tablet?

I think thats just the particular Android build, nothing really distinctive here. Has it got an Ubuntu kernel?

hey thanks for replying... yes it has come from china... it doesn't have any of tha apps like QQ, weixin or tha likes that you mention... it has google play... it's just that when i search for certain apps on google play/market, some of the apps say it's not compatible...

i'm not sure what you mean when you ask if it has an Ubuntu kernel.

sorry, very much a newbie at this!

Hi guys/girls,
I have the same unbranded tablet and I am very unhappy with its sub-standard performance.
When typing text, my cursor somehow ends up in the address bar !
Response time can be extremely slow at times. Many other problems with it.
I had trouble getting apps from Market, until I downloaded the "Play Store" app, the white shopping bag icon. Then I could get other apps (but only compatible ones).
Facebook- I had no trouble getting this, and other websites such as shared user forums.
I have a problem with my SD card.
8 Gb, but under settings- in "Storage" I have 7.2 gb, but when I look under "Apps"- 2.12 gb, same as my internal storage.
There is no known way to format the SD card to access the entire 7.2 gb.
Very unhappy with this machine.
