Help apps freezing

Newbie
got latest update but phone keeps freezing on apps. Google play store and ubersocial are two of them and when I go on plume that freezes too. possible I may have a virus?--anti virus finds nothing
I did a hard reset but still happening

any advice?

Hello and welcome to Android Forums 1jake171!

This is not unusual in an update. See the link in #1.2 of the, "Jelly Bean update - Dummies Guide", for an explanation and fix.
 
thanks but I did the hard reset and also wiped my intenal sd card too and then put all my apps back on but still getting google play has stopped errors
 
sorry to be a pain but how do I know if I have latest firmware
did software update via phone but when go to kies it comes that i need to update but then comes up in chinese writing
 
When I go to Kies I get the following enclosed screenshot but then comes up a box in Chinese

you mean manual update? it says no
I did a manual one a few days ago and got jellybean but this isnt jellybean I have now. how do I get it back again? Kies is useless

You said, "reset", which is a Factory Reset, here...

What do you mean by a, "manual update", and which JB firmware did you use?
 
went to phone--about phone----software update and it downloaded the latest jellybean update I think it was 4.12??

now after I did the hard factory reset it says no update available

according to the details I gave do I have the latest jellybean on my phone?
 
kies is telling me I have the latest firmware even though I have 4.04 and not 4.12 jellybean?

I am on 3, have samfirmware said no info, this is confusing

I checked on sammobile and says its available, do I download it from there? just bit wary as it tells me kies or manual update first and only use if 100% sure

edit I click on download latest firmware and nothing happens :(

am downloading it now. How safe is this? what % it goes wrong and gets bricked?

any idea why kies and manual update say latest firmware/no update?

1. Jelly Bean, Android 4.1.2, has not been released yet for your CSC code, H3G as you now know.

2. This is why Kies is showing you that there is no update available.

3. You now have 2 choices...

 
sorry to be a pain
tried to do 1.7 and left my csc code out but just said no info found when I did that

3 are halfwits they dont even know what I was talking about when I called them about jellybean

oh right you told me that I was going to upload ICS back on my phone when It came up with that

I just spoke to 3 and they said not been released yet so i`ll wait for the official release

:confused: That is because the only firmware currently available for your CSC code, H3G, is ICS which you were downloading again!

I just spoke to 3 and they said not been released yet so i`ll wait for the official release

#1.7 is entitled, "My CSC code is not eligible for JB yet but I want it now!"
