Help apps from one device to another

I have 2 android devices...a droid x phone and the flytouch 3 tablet. Does anyone know if I can download apps to my sd card in my droid x and then put the sd card into my tablet and allow them to reain on my sd card as opperable apps on my tablet without having to copy or move then to the device itself?
For some reason my tablet doesn't allow me to use the app..apps2sd on my tablet....a bug with the flytouch 3 I keep getting an error message saying....failed to move application

Download Astro File Manager on your phone. Then go into it & choose Tools, Backup, and select the app. It will back it up as an apk on your SD card, which can then be copied or sent to your tablet & used to install the app. ;o)

when i do this will i need a program to open the apk? And also will the app remain on my sd card so I dont bog the tablet down with apps? Thats what I want....to be able to keep apps and games on the sd card and not the internal drive

Is there a way to see the apk app on the sd card as well?

Okay, I said that if you download Astro to your tablet too, it has an App Manager built in so you can install from there and then get rid of the apk.

As far as moving the app goes, I use Links 2 SD (tablet must be rooted). It allows you to move individual apps there and works like a charm for me.

Have you flashed a custom ROM? If so, chances are that it's rooted. Maybe the quickest way is to see if you have the SuperUser app installed.
