Root apps list and a question.

Android Enthusiast
I am finally downgraded to ZVB and rooted with CWM thank to the efforts of Insanecrane, Gbiggie, Redhook, and Playfulgod.

now for the fun...
On my previous phone (A Huawei Ascend)
I cleared out the majority of bloat, and installed the following apps, that I;d like to install to this phone as well.

advanced app drawer
advanced task killer
androotfile
better keyboard
barcode scanner
boot animation installer (for my own boot up sequence)
cachemate (ascend worked much faster after I used this app)
g-mon
latitude (can I remove this?)
metro navigate
metro web
root explorer
superuser
titanium backup
lookout mobile security
Z4Root
I'd like to install all of these to my new phone, and I am wondering what people here think of my selections. Ideas?

Deletions:
Can I safely get rid of the following?
Swype
news
metro PCS easy wifi
metro backup
IM and social (does this control the basic texting app?
virtual card

_____________

Also: now that I am rooted with CWM and I know how to reboot into recovery mode, what do I do after that, once the blue-on-black screen appears with the following prompts:

"CWM-based recovery v5.9.2.7"
reboot system now
Apply Update from SD card
Wipe Data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
Install zip from SDcard
Backup and restore
Mounts and storage
Advanced
Power off

what should I do?

thanks!

Advance task killer and especially z4 is useless to you. You have to delete Google maps to get rid of the latitude app.

You can delete all of those.

As for clockwork recovery depends on what you are flashing. Read the ROM posts, kernel posts, and theme posts (just the first post in each) to know what steps to take for install of them. But you do want to scroll down to back up and restore and make a back up BEFORE you do ANYTHING.

Which ROM should I flash it with? Gingersteem, or ginger extreme?
I also heard there was a cyanogen version that just came out?
what are you guys running?

Thanks!

P

Just a note I use Better Keyboard 8 myself but the app is no longer available through the Market. You can however get the app through either Googling it or I believe that the Amazon App store has it and the un-locker for it.

And just to repeat what Shiny said, CREATE A NAND BACK UP BEFORE YOU MOD ANYTHING.

I see too many people skip this must perform step only to find they deleted something important and now have a screwed up device.

Flash both to see which you like better. And no CM yet. I'm running the extreme tho.

I have my own boot animations, and my own boot startup tone (and .ogg file)
what folder to I put the boot startup tone in and what folder do I place the boot animation in?

thanks!

For the sound go to system than sound and its called power on you have to tree names it to MetroPCS_PowerOn.mp3 just like that i an not sure about the boot animations
