Apps opening by themselves. HELP!!

Ahutch

Lurker
Hi so I got my samsung galaxy s3 mini a few weeks ago. For quite a while, I would unlock my phone and an app would be open and loading by itself. As soon as i unlocked my phone, there would be an app open and running. The apps that were running were mostly either ChatOn or S voice. I would turn on my phone and unlock it and one of those apps would just randomly be there. I dont have any task unintstallers or task deleters or anything like that. Please help me asap because I'm worried it might mess my phone up. Thanks.

You dont really have to worry about them but if you never use s-voice or chat on, ill tell you how to disable them

But what if it's doing something to my phone? I am worried because I dont want to screw it up. Is there something in my phone purposely causing these apps to open by themselves?

The apps are opening themself so that when you need them, theyre there and ready to go. If you close them, theyl just restart which wastes battery. Trust me, theyre doing what theyre supposed to do. I dont use them so i dont have them installed. You can easily disable them and enable them in the future if you need them.
Disabling s-voice will make your home button faster

Alright thanks. However when I tried yo disable them it said it could cause errors in other apps. Is that true? Also, I've been experiencing a bit of a lag in my task manager. It wont show the apps I used until I wait and open it again. Is that supposed to happen

Im not sure, i dont have the Mini. As for the warning, it does that whenever you disable any app, those two are completely safe to disable

Also one more question, why is it only those 2 apps randomly popping up, and not a variety of different apps?

Lots of apps open themself because the phone needs them, they just dont show up in task manager because the average user doesnt have to know about them

I dont know about chat on, think i disabled that when i 1st got the phone, same with s-voice but id guess that it stays open so its ready for your commands. s-voice is (supposedly) there for convenience so you wouldnt want to have to wait a few seconds for it to load before talking to it each time

OKAY THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP. I feel morr relieved than before. Just to clarify, this thing popping up with apps isnt a glitch, but something in the android system to make It convenient for you right?

Exactly :)
Dont be tempted to use any task killer apps, they do more harm than good by going against what the operating system is doing (android knows best)

Those apps are probably selectable to be run at boot time; check each apps settings. S voice in particular is probably what you want to run when the phone is powered-on, as it's a voice-command interpreter.

I have Utter! (similar to S voice or siri) and Root Call Blocker Pro run at boot time, for instance.
