Apps that pop up a notification and trigger the LED to blink fast?

Are there any apps that pop up a notification and trigger the LED to blink fast so that you know you have a new text message? Man I wish the LED was a multi-colored one and you could change it to light up different colors for the different types of messages that are incoming.

I have tried Handscent and SMS PopUp...no luck they have no effect at all on the LED.
