Help Apps that start up on their own?

I wanted to know why certain apps just start up on their own. To clarify, I'm not talking about apps that start up on boot up. I referring to ones that start at random. For example, every so often Pandora will start playing even though it was on pause. This has happen when i'm in another app. So there is no way that I pressed on the Pandora app to play. In addition, when I try to kill apps that are running in processes. Their will be some that I have not opened that day or in a while. I going through Astro and try killing apps that I don't need to use on a regular bases. Does anyone have any ideas?


Device: HTC Incredible
OS: 2.1 with HTC Sence
 
Thanks for the info, what is my concern is that these are apps, not system processes the the os requires for proper functioning. An app that is downloaded and hardly used all of a sudden is now running without any user intervention. Does Froyo fix this?

Search through their posts and see if your problem has already been addressed. If not, start a new one.

yes, apps will seemingly start up on their own and run in the background, it's basically just the way android works, you can check in an app called "system panel" and make sure they aren't actually using any resources.
 
I have the answer to this question, get an iphone. My phone is starting apps faster then I can kill them. Right as I kill them they instantly come back. It gets to the point where the phone is so slow and unresponsive I have to reboot. Apps that I want to keep running at all times are being force closed to make room for other apps that I don't want on to start. And I have autostarts which is suppose to prevent apps from starting on their own. It happens anyways. I would take not being able to run apps in the background over this crap. worst phone os ever. Ill never buy another android phone again. They need to extensilvy test their software before they release it. Monkeys must be coding. Its funny how they brag about how you can run apps In the background, but yet it doesn't know how to properly manage it. Here's a million dollar idea get it right the first time or dont get it at all

you don't need to kill any apps, read the link I posted above, android takes care of it for you. Delete the task killer, they do more harm than good.

Ps android manages apps 1000 times better than iphone (iphone can't do true multi tasking)
