Root apps to sd

hi i finally got modaco custom rom 3.0 on my htc hero i got 8gig micro sd card and wondering how you get apps to install on the sd card

They will do so automatically once you've updated the ROM.

im using modaco 2.9 so i did a wipe then did partition in recovery but it only comes up as of my 8gb card its got 2 partitions a 7.4g and 500mb the 500mb one has apps folder in it is that where they go and if so can i partition it differently so i can have more space than 500mb as i am a total newbie to it all i could do with a precise instructions on how to do it if it is possible

Did you repartition the card before installing the ROM? I'm unsure whether the script(s) will pick up the ext partition if the partitioning is done afterwards.

You can partition the card however you wish by using the sdpart script included with the recovery image from the command line.
