Apps updating

Anyone else notice that when you update apps they disappear as shortcuts from the home screen they're assigned to? Annoying as apps been updating frequently recently.....is there a fix or way to prevent?

what i can't figure out is why a flashlight app needs to update every couple days. seriously?

I keep getting an update icon in the notification bar and when I go to see what it is, there is nothing. All my apps are set to manual. Anyone else getting this?
