Apps/Widgets Icons

Is there a way to edit or take off the name at the bottom of an icon? Seems a waste of space and makes the phone look more cluttered to me? I.e. Camera shows pic of camera and says "camera" underneath.

Thanks

Awesome JMD - thanks. Do by chance no how people are changing the buttons on the bottom of the home screen for apps/phone/shortcut? Is there an app to edit those?

Dumb question but.....

Can I download some icons and use with stock? i.e. no root or open home etc.

Thanks!

JMD - any easy way to get all the text tags off my icons with Folder app without having to go in and redo all of them? I got it to work but I will have to go in a delete then re add each app with the folder app. Works though - thanks.

Not that I know of.

Yes, grab folder organizer lite (link in second post of this thread)

download an icon pack (there are a bunch in the let us peak at your screens thread)

open folder organizer lite

press the apps tab at the top

find the app you want the new icon for and press the triangle with the circle around it

press the icon button

press android image gallery

find your icons

pick the one you want

now follow steps from post #2

Anyone able to give a quick "guide" to downloading / installing icon packs? Non-rooted.

Thanks in advance.

p.s. I downloaded THESE & E-Mailed them to my self, opened the attachment on my EVO (only choice was to SD card) but am unable to locate them.

What I do is I move the .png file from the folder it downloads into, to the media folder (I have a subfolder named icons). Then when I click android image gallery in Folder Organizer, there is a listing for icons. They should be in there.

Not sure how accurate this is, but from my experience, the files must be in .png format to be used as an icon.

My next silly question... Can I access the SD card from my unrooted phone? Do I need to connect the usb cord to my computer?

OK, so I did the steps and changed my icon to a downloaded one. But it is only showing the new one in the folder organizer, not on my screen. How do I make the new one show up on my screen?
