State of Confusion (FL too)
Hi...

So I've been having some issues with my phone, specifically associated with my phone "communicating" with my SD card. First, my phone wasn't loading apps installed on my SD card. I'm rooted so a nandroid restore helped that.

But now I did some tests and trouble-shooting with some apps that I could not reinstall on my phone and realized that my phone is NOT INSTALLING APPS ON THE SD CARD. I can uninstall apps OFF the SD card and can install ON the internal phone memory but cannot install apps ON the SD card.

Anyone have this happen before?? Short of a wipe and restore, is there anything else I can do to fix this problem??

THANKS!

I sent you a PM a few minutes ago in response to what you sent me, but before you try any of that, let me just explain what I think is going on. I know some of what you've done before (and haven't wiped since), and I'm sure you've got a lot of corruption on the /sdcard/.android_secure directory. So, it'll probably be a pain, but uninstall all apps you have on the card, delete the /sdcard/.android_secure directory (it will be recreated), then install an app that can be moved to the sdcard, and try to move it. Reboot and see how it goes. Otherwise, it's data wipe time :).

If it's grayed out, the developer of the app has not added support for froyo apps2sd, and it cannot be moved to the sdcard. You *can* force it with titanium backup, but it's not the greatest idea. It can cause major issues down the road. You can also forget using froyo apps2sd altogether, and use a2sd to move all your apps to the sdcard on a separate partition. You should only do that if you have a faster (and bigger, if need be) sdcard. It is completely different than froyo apps2sd, and has a different process. It, requires root, though, as does titanium backup.
