I'm new to the desire and i have a few quick questions.
- I've been looking for a solution to the threaded messages appearing in the wrong order and is there a solution that you know of that doesn't include a separate messaging app? i couldn't seem to find one.
-Also installing apps need special permissions like access to SD card, phone calls and not allowing the phone to sleep, is this anything to be worried about, im not sure as i'm new to android. Finally any stand-out apps any of you would recommend?

For texting, I use Handcent.

I've downloaded a ton and never, ever had an issue.

will handcent use up more battery or memory than the standard messaging app? and i've found the standard messaging app still alerts for messages, can you stop this?

I don't notice any additional drain - To stop dual notifications, go into the stock messaging app settings and disable them in there. Then you will only get Handcent notifications.

Knock your clock on a few mins and the messages will remain in order. I've found that works.
