Root Apps2sd and memory question

hey guys..

now my internal memory is 80mb and my apps2sd memory is 82mb..

so is it true that i still have limited memory space even with apps2sd+ installed? i'm rooted with leedroid...so i won't have anymore space after either of them finish?

before rooting i used this method (http://androidforums.com/desire-tip...apps-sd-card-unrooted-device-noobs-guide.html)

Is this the reason why the internal memory is decreasing? do i have to redo and put 'pm setInstallLocation 0'.

hope u guys understand what i'm trying to say, i have problems explaining T.T

What do you mean you won't have anymore space when either of them finish?


In regards to pm installlocation, you will have over written that when flashing a Rom, but its always worth setting it back to internal

coz i thought that when apps2sd+ is installed, u won't have to face anymore memory problems?

and regarding the pm installocation, when i checked my angry birds apps and certain other apps, it is already installed to the sd card...it means there is an option 'move to phone'.. so do i move it to phone? coz ur faq says don't move apps to sd card..(and i didn't)

Yes.

It gives you a lot more apps space, but obviously it will not be infinite.

App cache will always remain on your internal /data partition, rather than SD EXT.

HTC mail is a big culprit for taking up internal memory, as is contacts storage.

Please report sizes of these.

Move it back to phone. Maybe the apps install to sd card by default. As in coded by dev that way?

my mail is only 4mb and my people contacts is only around 3mb..coz i don't sync with facebook...all together i have more than 60 apps installed ( its too much to count all =P)

if my apps2sd storage finishes up first, is there a way to increase the memory?

If the partition finishes first, you could do a titanium backup of all apps and settings, backup SD card.

Flatten it and repartition with bigger partition using Gparted live CD (dont settle for anything else)

But if internal fills up first, thats the limit.

At that stage, you have to look for more experimental, complicated solutions.

I got a slight problem the other day when I installed a huge app and was then warned that internal memory was low, even though there was enough space on EXT3. This lasted for about 24 hours and then the phone sorted itself.

What I think happens is the my Set CPU is profiled to 245mb max when the screen is off, thus the phone is really slow at house keeping! If its on the user is loading the CPU, when the screen off its limited to 245mb.
