Root apps2sd still out of memory

well ive rooted and installed dark tremor, then ran titanium backup, and i noticed my internal memory had gone down, so i used app2sd and selected move to sd, my memory was straight back up, then i read on here that the script should do that for mr=e so i moved them all back to phone memory, now i have only 4mb of internal space, but i have ran system info and that says i have got 512mb ap2sd wkth 393 available, so something has gone there but not sure why i still have no internal memory????

i just ran terminal emulator again and its still saying only 400mb free space, with only 5mb internal, what am i doing wrong??
its obviously working, but not if you know what i mean

A2sd script does do it automatically but not to the same place.

What quick system info shows sounds correct.

Titanium cannot be relied upon for meaningful space statistics.

Have you moved dalvik cache since moving apps back to phone?

ok so i know thats it tricks the internal memory, i had to move some apps to sd so that i had some memory, so ive now got 35mb, but when it was telling me i only had 4mb left on internal and 300mb on a2sd i couldnt install anymore apps though as it was telling me i had no more memory??? yet according to system info i still had 300 available, what can i do, is it worth a re-flash of everything and trying again, clear the cache, data and then wipe again, then reinstall rom, then DT then run terminal emulator and then install apps with titanium?????

A few, but if a2sd is telling me I have 399mb left surely I shouldn't be running out? I've just moved some more back to phone and again its saying low memory. I'm confused, could it be the older version of DT?

I'm running the old DT and not having these issues. I'm wondering whether its worth you repartitioning your SD card. Wait for further advice.

Right think I sorted it, I did a full wipe and reinstalled first the rom, then the gapps and then DT. Rebooted the phone, and before I did anything I ran the terminal emulator. Then signed into Google downloaded TB and reinstalled all my apps, system info is showing 399mb free from 517. So its defo worked, internal mem is showing 40mb free, but I've been able to install all the updates I didn't have room for before, so I assume some apps still place some files within internal memory. Do these figures sound right? All apps installed, internal mem remaining 40mb a2sd 399mb remaining? I've looked at applications in settings and a few files have auto installed to SD card, but I presume this is a froyo thing. Let me know what you think. If its wrong ill just try a different rom.

That sounds a lot better. Roms can take hours to settle in, writing files, building dependencies etc. Ease off a while and have a good play with your new rom.

Is it normal then that. My internal and a2sd both have used the same 117ish MB? Will the DT slowly move all the apps to the ext3 partition? Or is that for whatever reason my apps are being installed to both internal and ext partitions?

haha.

I'm not sure how many times I will have to say this, but your internal memory will STILL BE USED ;) App cache still goes there. Your stored settings will still be there.

So basically, if I hadn't used DT my apps would have taken the full 234mb which is the total space being used, ok I get it, cheers, this forum rocks!!!! Just need to get a better keyboard now, don't really like this one. :)

Only 40mb internal free?

Damn! How many apps do you have??

As for a keyboard, try Smart Keyboard.

Is it then possible that the apps are not going where they should? Only I thought I would have had far more internal mem using DT?

Regardless of my set-up, the 83MB of internal memory USED wouldn't change.

I didn't even mention the 210MB of internal memory FREE ;)

Not the latest no because the latest beta 4 version just made my phone hang at the HTC logo. I'm using version 2.7.5.2-1 could that be it, can I flash the script again without having to wipe?

Yes I think it may need to be 2.7.5.3 to do the dalvik cache move.

Try it again, you can flash without a wipe. Give it a while before deciding its laggy though.

InfernalByte is probably best to comment on this as he uses CM.
