Help Archos 70 IT 250GB Freezing/Crashing

Just got my new Archos 70 Internet Tablet 250GB two days ago. Was really excited! Waited for 71 days before receiving my Archos.

Seemed to work ok at first, but then started having problems.

I'm wondering if the issues could simply be software related ...

I installed some apps. Tried to access Market, but couldn't get it installed.

Finally called Archos Tech Support. The first tech support person didn't tell me everything I needed to do. She just told to follow instructions ... Ok ....

Called Tech Support again. This time they guy walked me through the complete procedure correctly. God the Archos up and running again.

Everything seemed to be good. Installed some more apps from Market, including these three apps:

*** Advanced Task Cleaner Pro
*** Advanced Task Killer
*** Advance Task Manager

I'm thinking possibly these are the problem ...

Anyone have similar experience, suggestions ....

I'm in the process of reformatting the Archos for the third time .... I wasn't able to back up the files I had already installed on the Archos, as it was frozen, even after rebooting many times, and running the Utility.

I have the freezing/ crashing.issue with Archos 101, but mine started straight out of the box on first startup. My appslib barely stays unfrozen and you can barely use it. I use the regular market for everything just about now and it doesn't do it. Also when too many apps are launched it freezes or crashes and issues with boot up after it falls asleep, it wont wake up and i have to reset it by holding the power button down for 10secs. Are you having these issues?

Did you update to the latest software? I had some freezing issues but only when I was using some of the overclock kernels posted at XDA. I don't recommend using anything but the stock kernel ATM.

I am having the same problems. Freezing and having to "Force close" most things that I open and not just apps. I only installed a few apps, about 6 books and 2 videos. Call Tech support and they had me check my storage which said it was uinavailable. She told me that was my problem and to reformat. Started over. Installed Aldiko (no books) trial verision of MS Office. Having to 'force close' or just freezes. last time I was able to check the storage, still says unavailable. Still waiting to hear back from tech support

I've been having the exact same problems as you, it seems to run perfectly smoothly then freeze completely and I have to do a hard restart. I have done a factory reset and haven't installed as many apps and this has helped slightly. I imagine it must be a firmware issue because it runs so smoothly right up until it goes unresponsive. Nice to know I'm not the only one having problems though!

I've just bought this tablet after I've read some reviews. It's a weird thing because they said that the tablet run smooth and without problems. Maybe is a problem with this series. The freezing is not very often but is still a problem for me. Do you have any solution for that ?
