Are there any known problems in latest Gingerbread (4.08.605.2)? I am referring to official (Verizon/HTC) GB for DInc and not to third-party ROM-s.

I am now running stock Froyo (rooted) and don't really want to upgrade if problems that existed with previous GB update are not all fixed.

According to all reports, the newest update is bug free, however that doesn't mean you won't have issues upgrading or after the upgrade. But the bugs that were because of sloppy development (wrong screen size, no texts, sprint market) have all been fixed.
 
I have the current Gingerbread pushed most recently from Verizon and I have no problems what-so-ever. Better battery life, no low-space warning, my phone hasn't rejected my sd card yet, and the patch found all my apps.

Oh, and I'm unrooted.

didn't read too many reports of the no gmail. The low on space issue is completely separate than the gingerbread update. More people reported it after receiving the update because the update file itself occupied a large chunk of data. The update actually makes it easier to monitor the partition that causes the warning and improves the way apps are moved to the sd card to help prevent that partition from filling up.

But like I said, the update itself is not coded with any bugs, but applying the update may cause issues that just come from updating the OS. It's always best to do a factory reset after applying any OS upgrade to wipe out conflicting files that may hang around from the old OS.
 
I haven't seen reports of problems from the update, aside from actually installing the update itself.
The general consensus seems to be that it's bug free, or at least that it didn' tintroduce any new bugs.

Just from how he asked that i assume his referring to gmail not synching because the /data/data is full.

Open Garden wireless tether worked just fine for me. Some other ones worked as well, but that was the first one I found that worked with my Nook Color (which can't see Ad-Hoc connections, only infrastructure ones).
 
Ahhh, You're talkin' root. I've been using the stock wireless hotspot with the "DUN hack" and was wondering if that will still work after the update?
 
I'm stock and my phone has, within the past weekend, begun to stop pushing Gmail. It was working fine for a few days post finally getting the 4.08 update installed.

Also, my phone will not automatically connect to my car radio when I turn the Bluetooth on as it did prior. Now I have to manually connect each time.
 
I've noticed what I believe is a small bug, unless there's something I'm missing: The Home, Menu, Back and Search buttons on the bottom of my phone no longer light up. They worked before the update. I have searched for a setting, but can't seem to find one. Anyone else?
 
tried to do the update last night. Got told that i didn't have enough space to install, and suggested that i remove (large) apps and suggested g-mail or other mail apps. Funny, i had 6.42G available IPS, and 556Mb Available phone mem. I made some uninstalls anyway. Now that i made room, the phone says that i have up to date version (3.26.605.1). I know that the ver that was downloaded for install was 4.X! What gives? how do i update now?

One is that if I try to view my saved alarms, often there are none listed. I then have to "add" an alarm and they all show up. Weird and slightly annoying.

There is no setting. There is a light sensor behind these buttons.

I have tethered since the update and all is working fine. I checked the settings and the previous hack (removed DUN) is still there so I would assume it's business as usual.

I'm having the same problem with Gmail not pushing. It seems like it may be due to low space, but I don't get a "low on space"error. I'm wondering if Verizon "fixed" the low space bug by just deleting the error message (while the underlying issue wasn't fixed).

No, they didn't. Plenty of people are still getting the message after the update.

Try going into Accounts & Sync, uncheck everything. Reboot, and then recheck it all.

I had a problem with ##778 bringing up the settings too and it was caused by the app Call Confirm which was just putting it through as a phone number. Once I disable the app dialing ##778 worked just fine.

Just wanted to pop in and say that this seems so far to have worked for me. Gmail is pushing now like before and I also had to do this for my HTC Facebook widget. Thank you!
 
I have also had the gmail issue. Twice now i found gmail was not being pushed to my phone and both times I was able to correct it by unchecking and rechecking the two sync options. Obviously not a real solution though since its happened twice. I guess we're never gonna get perfection
