Are there Sleepwalkers among us?

I haven't done it since I was a kid but I've taken some embarrassing midnight strolls which my family still tease me about.

Anyone else?

I still remember this old story:
BBC NEWS | UK | Teen 'sleepwalks to top of crane'
A teenage sleepwalker was rescued after being found asleep on the arm of a 130ft crane, police have revealed...

...
The unnamed 15-year-old had apparently left her home near the site, climbed the crane and walked across a narrow beam while remaining fast asleep...

...
Expert Irshaad Ebrahim, of the London Sleep Centre, told the Times newspaper he had treated people who had driven cars and ridden horses while asleep.

He said one patient had even attempted to fly a helicopter.

Yeah, I used to sleepwalk when I was younger too. It seems to have stopped for me sometime in my early 20s (as far as I know! :p;)).

I still can't figure out why I would feel the (from what I heard, very) urgent need to make sure no one had stolen the oven racks at 3:00 in the morning...

haha. It's them oven rack stealing ninjas. They're not getting past you.

Yeah I used to when I was younger, I've brought a doll downstairs taking it a walk, I've walked down and give my mum my brush to brush my hair, I once - and thank God the windows are like they are, but my bedroom was once moved around, my bed faced the door and so if I got up I'd walk out the door but it moved around (my bed moved not the room) so that my bed faced the window, I got up in the night and tried to get out of my bedroom door, which was obviously now my window, my dad just heard me knocking stuff off the window sill etc. But the worst was my dad followed me downstairs waving and shouting at the front room window, my grandparents lived across the road and I was dreaming the house was on fire and I was waving for them to help.
A girl I knew, slept naked, went on holiday, let herself out of the hotel room and woke up in the corridor!!
But I dont sleep walk now (hope thats not a key for it to happen lol), but I sleep talk alot.

I don't sleepwalk but I talk in my sleep. Imagine hooking up with a perfect 10, and while your sleeping you say "oh walmart, oh walmart, oh walmart" over and over again for about 10 mins till she finally wakes you up. Yeah, that happened. :o :(

When I wake up its actually funny, but I am sure that in the middle of the night when its quiet and dark its not.

When I was younger I was on holiday with my mate, I'd fallen asleep (probably drunk) and she was awake reading (God knows how cos she'd have been as drunk as me) and I just sat up and said "and I said to her "It's ok cos I've got my rainmate with me"".....a rainmate in england is a little plastic hood thing that older ladies wear to keep their hair dry when its raining, WHY I was talking about one is beyond me!!!

More recently, I've sat up in bed and asked my hubby what he was talking to Carron on the phone about, and then once I must have woke when I heard him shut the door at the bottom of the stairs but it must have taken a while for me to wake fully, and he was just getting into bed and I sat bolt up right and went "ssssssshhhhhhhhh....did ya hear that?"...WHAT? "ssssssssshhhhhh someones downstairs, I just heard them shut the door"...NO THAT WAS ME......"no.....ssssshhhhhh listen.......there is"......

Thank god no. I did once or twice that I know of as a kid but that's it. I would hate to have to go to bed at night worrying about that!

I did it just the other night!!! As far as I know, I never do it, but the other night was an exception. Apparently, in the middle of the night, fast asleep, I went to my dresser, put on my glasses, took my current Netflix DVD & put it in the mail. I also checked my mailbox & brought my mail up. I folded my glasses on top of my mail & went back to bed. The next morning, I went to my dresser & didn't see my glasses. No biggie, I thought. There are a couple other places I sometimes leave my glasses. I checked both places, & neither of them had my glasses. I started to freak out a little bit, because there are few things worse than trying to find my glasses when I CAN'T SEE, especially when I had to drive myself to work in a few minutes. I started going over every surface in my apartment, looking/feeling for my glasses. Sure enough, I found them on my mail table, on top of mail that I had never seen before. At that point I knew I had sleepwalked. A day later I got an email from Netflix, saying they had received my DVD. Of course I didn't remember sending that particular DVD off, so I chalked it up to when I sleepwalked.

Pretty freaky!!

haha this makes me laugh - not that you did it but the fact that you've never done it and it suddenlyt happened, it reminded me of something on aother thread where someone said "no I dont but watch it happen tonight"...cos years ago, when I was pregnant with my son, we were out with some friends, they were drinking I obviously wasnt, and the wife was moaning that her fella, when he drinks just gets up and takes a leak wherever, and she cant sleep cos he is always getting up and walking into the wardrobe and doing it. My hubby said "no way thats never EVER happened to me in all the years I have been drinking"...that night, I'm woke up with clattering, and the sound of running water....and I vaguely makeout the outline of my hubby stood aiming at the radiator at the bottom of the bed!!!!

But you just reminded me, I've picked my phone up in the middle of the night and in my sleep started checking my emails and woke up and realised what I was doing!
