Verizon and HTC both said it will work but verizon said it is not optimized for verizons network whatever that means.
I got those numbers form HTC

That's one of the "HOOPS" ya hafta jump through, that I mentioned a few posts back.
You'd have to use an active SIM Card (currently in use from another VZW device) & use it in the M9 DE. AFAICT, they're not gonna perform a typical activation as if you bought the device direct from VZW.
There are members here who have participated in this discussion that are far more knowledgeable than myself regarding all things VERIZON.
I'd recommend checking out the VERIZON forum here @ A/F for a better explanation/expectation regarding activation of non-VZW devices on their network.

From what I can tell for those who have tried to activate Nexus 7 tablets and Nexus 6 phones on Verizon, if you have an already active sim card then you just pop it into the device if it has the hardware necessary to run on their network. If you don't have an already active sim card, you're out of luck unless you can get them to activate a sim card using a different device and thus end up in situation 1. If it doesn't have the correct hardware, you're out of luck.

I remember that KOLIO posted this past weekend regarding the actual LTE frequencies that the SIM free/Developer editions will operate on, but there still isn't any word on what HSPA frequencies or if there are any CDMA frequencies supported by those devices.

...Alright First impression
-Damn fast
-Refuses to cook bacon (inside joke)
-Transitions are smooth
-Feels solid in the hand. The beveled edge definitely helps with grip
-Gunmetal grey looks sweet
-Rear camera in normal light conditions is pretty sweet- Quick focus/capture
-Front camera is the same ole' UP4 - love it there
-Feels extremely solid
-Not happy with notification light. It is recessed in the speaker grill, which makes it hard to see off angle and allows dirt into the hole to block the LED. I was hoping there would be a change this time around.

...Most importantly it doesn't feel like a wasted upgrade. I feel like I have a new premium device that is built on the solid foundation of the M7 & M8, but with enough changes that it makes it worth while to upgrade.

Will post pics and stuff in a few. Just enjoying playing around and setting up right now!

I just got an apology email from HTC regarding shipping delays that included a 25% discount on accessories. Anyone else get one of these emails?

Yeppers, just checked the e-mail account that's linked to HTC & there is was, just arrived 5 minutes ago.
Gonna use it on the Rapid Charger 2.0

...First big problem -Whatsapp is not compatible with the M9 yet
I don't use Whatsapp, but,I tried to install via Desktop.
It listed my M9 as compatible, but, when sent to the phone, got a "927" Error:
"WhatsApp Messenger" could not be downloaded due to an error (927)
Have you tried a side-loaded apk?
FWIW,doesn't seem to be compatible frm AMAZON either.

I'm off helping with bricks and newcomers.

Please start and sticky a tips thread like @SolApathy did for the M8.

See if this belongs.

Get developer settings enabled.

If nuplayer is checked, uncheck and reboot.

It's supposed to be the new thing in streaming html content (content not just media).

For reasons unknown it seems to bork a lot of things and apps.

Turned on under the hood for the M8 5.0.1 Lollipop because Google did.

Google has it off for 5.1 until whatever gets sorted.

No idea if this tip matters, no idea if the M9 5.0.1 has it turned on.

If on, turn off.

Does not require root.

Does not affect warranty.

Different sellers. One is still pre-order and it looks like they support different frequency bands. Hard to tell with sellers like that though; especially the second one that is just cut and pasting the description. I would recommend just grabbing one from HTC (Developer edition) if you are looking for an unlocked device and depending on who your carrier is. After that I recommend grabbing a Square Trade warranty. They are a lot cheaper than the contract based protection plans & a lot of times you replacement phone is a new phone, not a refurb!

I just got my M8 replaced and they sent me a brand new M8.

-Who is your carrier?

Is there a place I can see One in store yet? I gotta see the shade of the gun metal color prior to purchase.
If memory serves me well (doubtful, but, here it goes......:p....I think you're in the UK?).Not sure if display models are out yet.
Either way,I can tell you the color in most renders is accurate, however, lighting not only changes the darkness/lightness of the phone, but, very subtle shade differences appear.
Perhaps it's picking up surrounding colors,I don't know, could be talking straight out of my rear here ,but,I can safely tell you that you won't be disappointed w/the GunMetal color choice.:)

Some of the Best Buys have working display models, you have to call and check.

PS - I take it the nuplayer advice was ok then? I saw it in the new faq, so I presume it's useful.

YESSIREE!
It was indeed enabled & I've since disabled it,everything is OK.

Thanks for the reply! I'm just a little confused because I am with metro PCs and I know that they basically use the same network that t mobile uses. I was reading the q&a of the preorder link and they said that 4g LTE would not work on it so I don't know whether its the same story or not with metro PCs.

I've got the Developer Edition & 4GLTE is alive & well on T-Mobile.
Myself & others confirmed w/HTC USA via Twitter that the Developer Edition & Unlocked Edition supported both AT&T & T-Mobile's 4GLTE Networks.

ASK DES from T-Mobile also confirmed this & both stated the data/info on HTC's site regarding bands on those two phones was indeed in errror (site still omits US bands).

No WI-FI Calling on the Developer Edition though & suspect the same for the Unlocked Edition.

So I should be good with this version to use on metro pcs lte? I'm not worried about wifi calling.

It says US warranty, but I still worry that it might be the International unlocked rather than the NA unlocked. If you want the SIM free version, order it directly from htc.com since it will be the US one plus HTC is already shipping devices rather than needing to wait an additional couple of days for it to ship.

Call HTC & ask about Model # OPJA100,that is what is in the listing.
Ditto w/AMAZON. Call them & check their return policy on smartphones before ordering.

I received mine today around 10:30 am and have been spending some free time setting it up. I did notice that it runs a tad warmer than how my Nexus 5 ran. Not scalding hot by any means, but temps have been ranging in the 100-105 range according to GSAM while downloading some apps over wifi. Is this consistent with others have seen thus far?

Several reviewers noted that when downloading multiple apps.

Not sure but I think Tech Radar measured the case temperature at 101°F (3 degrees above body temperature) when that was going on.

Alright, thanks for the confirmation EM. Probably just going to be something to get use to. Overall I do really like it, but am definitely feeling the change after being on Stock Android for 3.5 years. The camera on the M9 is much better than those on previous Nexus devices. I have to say, I love them BoomSound Speakers :D
