Are you happy with your G2X?

Please don't post if you aren't happy. I know who you are.
Just seems like there must be more people like me who are happy with their purchase.
Again please refrain from complaining in this post. Please.

Im very happy with my phone. It works really well its fast, light, decent battery life as well. the body glove case works quite well with it.

Coming from Blackberry it has taken a couple of weeks to really get used to android but I can say I am happy making the switch. The battery life has gotten better and I now make it through the day with moderate usage. The phone just out right flies through apps and does everything I could ask of it so well.

Fairly to quite happy. Just itching to get some stable gingerbreadness (w/awesome camera app) on this thing.

Im very happy with my G2X. Not since the nexus one have i felt this way about a phone. Im the type of person that would switch phones 2-3 times a year just because i was always looking for cutting edge. But the nexus one was the only phone that i kept for a yr plus. Every time something new would release i knew that it wasnt anything that my nexus one couldnt handle, until the lack of memory for apps killed it for me(but all in all a yr was a great run). Thats exactly the same feeling that i have with the G2X, regardless of whats coming out i know that its nothing fancier than my G2X. The EVO 3D seems nice but the concept of 3d on a phone is gimmicky to me. The sensation has a bigger screen and a bit more ram but its also running sense, and as much as i like sense i know that its a resource pig, and that was the old sense not the fancy new sense with all those ui graphics. So for me the G2x has what i need for at least the next 9-12 months plus the added bonus of cyanogen support(this is the phone he has).

I bought my first smartphone a year ago, the MyTouch 3g Slide. I loved it. Couldn't stream videos well, but I liked it still. I family planned it to my son and upgraded myself with the G2x. Three days later I am happy and have no complaints.

I'm happy with mine, too. I've even adjusted to no colored LEDs for various notifications. The phone has worked quite well so far.

There is an app in the market called missed message, flashes the whole screen where you would normally use a notification led, solved my main gripe. I love the beveled screen, perfect size with4 inch. 1080p, dual core, perfect for a gaming power user like me

I did try out an app that would flash the bottom row "buttons" which was nice, but then I realized I was almost always on my phone anyway so I decided to uninstall it. I just can't seem to put this phone down :)

Sounds like a battery killer. Have you noticed any excessive drain
since installing it?
I use the screen lock app called Goto and it has notifications on its home screen. I like this app a lot, but you have to activate it again everytime you shut it off or reboot. Which is easy, one press, just a pain though. But it shows a lot of useful info on the lockscreen, including notifications. Plus you can go directly to messaging , email, phone or unlock with a swipe.

I noticed no difference in battery drain, I am all about that app with having a G2x since I used it on my galaxy s, you can adjust the screen flash time, i set mine to 15 seconds. Works like a dream. I use goto also, the 2 together work greatfor me

I just wanted to say coming from the first original Droid, I'm completely happy. I'm not experiencing any of the problems I've seen here on the forum. I see the normal battery drain as with any other android device. It maybe that I came from a entry level android device but this phone for me rocks.

I Love this phone it is outstanding in all departments. By far the best cell phone I have ever owned. Granted it is only my second smartphone I have no anntenna issues no connection problems my 4g is excellent at times over 7 mbs. The phone has reset itself once but I would expect that from a phone with this os because of all the running processes. Just be vigilent and keep programs you dont need closed you dont even have to get one of those apps they only make it easir but not nessesary. All in all I am impressed and I think that no phone is going to touch this one for a while at least.

Update. I just did a speed test here are the results: ping 80ms DOWNLOAD 10.3MBS!!!!UPLOAD 2.1 MBS. HOLY SH@#$ I LOVE THIS PHONE. The weather is horrible in the middle.of thunder and lightning storm!!!! Wow

I couldn't be happier with my G2x... unless it had a 4.3 inch screen. :)

I've been trying to talk myself into the fact that a 4 inch screen is the best of both worlds: bigger than the standard 3.5 inchers out there, without the excessive battery drain of the REALLY big boys. But so far it hasn't quite worked. Every time I pick my DX up (it's still never much farther away than my G2x is, I'm still tinkering with it), I realize that I still do miss that .3 inches that I gave up. So that's my only regret.

Other than that this is everything I'd been dreaming of getting and more all those months I was stuck with the locked bootloader of the DX, and wanting more FREEDOM!!! It's funny how the guy above likened this device to his Nexus 1, because I've been telling everyone who'll listen that this LG device is for all intents and purposes a Nexus series phone... vanilla Android, unlocked bootloader, quick updates (at least, that's what they promised us... still waiting on them to make good on that one). It's everything Google itself gives you in an Android device, which is precisely why I got it!

My previous goal had been to wait it out for the next Nexus decice to drop (didn't want a Samsung built phone, even if it was to Googles exact specifications), then abandon ship and swim for shore. But this here G2x is everything a Nexus device aspires to be, so why wait?

And sure it has the same amount of initial bugs that every device to date has launched with. I REALLY wish people would just realize that bugs come with all technology, it's the nature of the beast. Certainly we all wish that wasn't the case, but it is. Just like man was born to sin, every new tech has its own bugs to work out. And every run will produce a few lemons, just like anything else that's man made.

When man makes something that doesn't live up to all of its counter parts, we call that a lemon... when nature does it, we call it a runt. It's the same damn thing, neither man nor God is perfect. At any rate, I've been dreaming of possessing a device with all the freedoms of an unlocked bootloader, a skin-free UI, and all the goodness that comes with such a recipe. Motorola got it right with the OG Droid, why they went and ****ed that all up I'll never know.

All I know is that I thank God for companies like LG who seem to be listening to those of us like me over on the Droid X forum who were screaming for a return to vanilla Android and an unlocked bootloader! They seem to be catering to those of us who wanted exactly what LG has given us in the G2x, and for that I am more than happy to reward them by giving them my hard earned money in thanks.

Thank you LG. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I love it- phone feels extremely solid, fast. I traded in one for another because first had a fair bit of bleed on both upper corners (you could see the light separating from the screen). Second one has much less. Both worked great with no lockups. This second one will last me for a long while. I love the easy integration with Exchange and calendar sync that froyo provides. Coming from Blackjack II, so this was a long time in the making. 4g speed is icing, but 2g works great for me at work, and wifi at home.

I love my G2x. I came from a MyTouch Slide so it took some time getting used to the differences (especially the screen size, the G2x not having a hard keyboard, and the LED notification light not being on the G2x) but now that I've had my phone for 2 and a half months or so I can say that those things were really unnecessary to me. I can go without the LED notification light and hard keyboard. I never really needed them. I like the way the G2x notifies you if you have a message in it's own way by lighting up when you get the message (I always have my phone next to me so I notice it immediately) My battery life was horrible at first but it got MUCH better after a few power cycles and it lasts me all day now. Overall, I don't see me changing phones anytime soon. Especially not after we get the update with Gingerbread.
