Installed CM7.1 gingerbread 2.3.4 05092011
Previously had the stock 2.1 loaded and rooted
The laptop I installed the Ascend USB drivers from the stock load keep loading the CM7 phone as a CD Rom and with a dummy file. I cannot get into the SD card at all from this laptop. (running Win Vista HP) I am also making sure that I click on the "turn on USB storage" from the phone. That makes no difference.
Installed the Ascend USB drivers I found here on the site on my Vista laptop and another laptop running Win7 HP and the drivers work great on the Win7 unit.
Found a way to uninstall the non persistent devices from the device mgr and I also dug through the system registry and deleted everything that said Android or Huawei. Rebooted and reinstalled the Ascend USB drivers from the Setup.exe on the Vista laptop. Still getting the same issue.
When the phone is plugged into the Vista Laptop it is showing as a "Huawei M860 USB Device" on the Win7 unit it shows up as a Android Mass Storage Device.
Anyone have any clue on how to fix this on the Vista unit. I am guessing if I could get all the old driver off the vista laptop I could install the drivers again and it would show as the Android mass storage like on the win7 laptop. (win7 unit is a friends that I don't have full access to.)
I know I can use a card reader and I have one but my wife keeps it with her digital camera and I don't always have access to it. I would really like to get the driver issue fixed on the pc. HELP PLEASE!
