I lurk elsewhere but usually start with my subscribed threads which are mostly games. Sometimes try to look at the forums for the phones of friends and family.

If they are at a point to want to try it I think they might be able to embrace it. But unless they've seen it or played with someone's phone that is vanilla I think it will be a shock at first.
