Asphalt 6 now available from Gameloft

As the title says Asphalt 6 is available from Gameloft and it's just $2.99 for me in Canada. Hit gameloft.com on your phone it see if its available for you.

I'll let you know what I think when I have some time to play.

The apk is 9MB and when installed takes 18MB of internal storage. When the game is launched it downloads 900MB of data to your SD card.

The game has some serious issues. I can see through the track to the textures below it, its very disorienting. It definitely got pushed out before its ready. This one will need an update or two before I would give it my recommendation.

After quiting the game and launching it again the textures now seem fine. But tilt control no longer works and i just veer to the right as soon as the race starts. Quiting the game and launching it again seems to fix that as well. I'm starting to see a pattern here. It may have something to do with jumping back to the desktop mid game to answer a text and then heading back into the game.

Anyone else having issues?

900 MB data download? Yeesh.

Haven't given it a download and I likely won't. Racers really aren't my thing, and I haven't even finished the only one I have (NFS:Shift, though I'm one track and 18 stars away from finishing it).

i had the same issue. But the i close the game and start it again then was all fine :)

Crashes before getting to the main menu, this has been rushed out by the looks of things, it's not ready for release. :(

yeah, that and the fact it needs to download almost 1gb of extra data. i hope this isnt going to be a trend because a 32gb micro sd upgrade is almost 100 dollars
Yikes! I've got a 32GB micro SD and it's running out of room already!! Geez, now I'll have to get another card to use just for backups and the current one for my games and other data.

Not on Android Market. I'll avoid until it is.

Android is open and all about choice, choice in device and choice in distribution model. Expect Amazon to go for as much exclusive content as possible with their store.

Going forward if your only interested in getting apps in one place, might as well get an iPhone.

android is about choice true, the ability to choose not to buy games from a developer only offering it in one channel that is full of problems. But thats another thread..

Yeah you can't turn the device off or go to another app and back again without glitching out the graphics. Besides that, it stutters here and there. It looks to be a great game otherwise, as long as you don't turn off the device during a gaming session you should be able to play the game fine for now until there is an update. This is my experience on a Captivate.

What problems do you speak of.

- You can pay by credit, paypal and in some cases carrier billing. That's a win for Gameloft over the Market.

- You can buy from Gameloft in more countries than you can buy from the Android market. Win for Gameloft.

- You can easily re-download your games just as the market. Tie.

- Games auto update, which is better than loading the market and downloading updates yourself. Gameloft wins again.

-The only area which is better is easier transportation to a new device. Win for market, but not as bad as people make it out to be. I'm on my third Android and with each change I just emailed Gameloft and had new apk's in less than 24 hours. Each time I emailed before the change took place so I never had to wait.

works great on my Galaxy:), did you buy the game or did you download your version somewhere else?

I have issues and bought it directly from Gameloft the day it came out. I don't think you should be insinuating anything like that.

They seem to put small incremental updates out for download on like a weekly basis. So if your having issues go download the latest version. Or if you wait they will release an auto update. They seem to only do auto updates cumulative patches. I don't know this for sure, but it seems to be the case.

and amazon will hopefully test it so you don't end up with bugs after you already bought the game

Depends on your preference. I hate carrier billing because I'd rather pay now than later. Paypal is okay I guess, but why not just pay for it with a credit card?

That's a win I guess, though the number of countries is growing.

That wasn't always the case.

Last time I checked, I can tell any of my apps to auto-update themselves (unless a manual update is required), and that works just fine for me.

Dude, I get it. You work for Gameloft or something (hence the name). Some of us just don't like the extra effort, and AT&T customers can't get any of their newer software at all. Not a problem if they actually put games on the Market (win for Android).

I wish the auto update feature was more useful in the Market. I have about 150 apps and I have to go hit auto update on each one. I also upgrade my ROM every couple weeks. So even if I went and hit auto update on everyone, I would have to do it again on everyone after updating. I really wish they would add an auto update all button.

It doesn't take any extra effort to buy and download a game. AT&T sucks but if you unfortunately have an AT&T phone. I suggest having the Android Central Side Loading Wonder Machine as it automates the side loading process. With Amazon coming and what will most likely be a bunch of exclusive apps, might as well get used to doing it.

or you would so that it wouldnt be painfully obvious that you do. v:)v

edit: i'll stop posting in your gameloft threads from now on, i dont mean to cause trouble

I knew someone would say that.

It's weird, if I say anything bad about any other developer people attack me. If I say anything good about Gameloft I'm accused of working for them.
