Assistance needed samsung note 2

OK just got this yesterday, cannot find out how to delete photos from gallery, getting frustrated it evidently happened when contacts were transferred. the salesman at the verizon store didn't even assist me with questions because i didn't load up with accessories, was lucky i got gmail address in...how do i put the facebook info, and any other i.e., comcast, ... email addresses in. also i don't know how the hell i did this but i have this line down the left side of phone with some apps and can't get rid of it and it is blocking my speaker tab so when i press down on speaker the line gets wider with these tabs...i'm worn out and disgusted from trying to garbage and add in. thanks for any assistance,.
 
sorry, never did this before, i am arianna from pa with a new phone and was trying to get help and evidently i must have posted in the wrong place or something so i apologize
