Assistance needed

[skyline1]

I was looking at several apps to download and am confused about something. I admit I am new to this but...for example. I wanted to downl;oad a live wallpaper of hot air balloons for my background. The apps permission states it needs access to internet...access to my contacts...access to my phone numbers.

Why would a background app need access to all these things? When downloading apps are there certain permissions to watch for that you shouldn't give?

Are there any general guidelines regarding this?

Thank you for your assistance

Sometimes these permissions are for really innocent things that seem obvious once theyre explained. I saw a great thread about it. Hold on ill try n find it....

Im the type of person who really doesnt worry about app permissions in play store apps but if everyone was like me, bad stuff would slip through the net
