Astro file manager beta?

And I agree completely with that. But no need to bash people for the choice to not pay. I may end up buy it, depends on the function. This guy did an awesome job with this program, but I just know there are others out there. I use ES File Explorer also, but I really don't like it as much. Who knows.
And that's the beauty of capitalism.

i knew it was coming, wasnt sure when :) the end is near, all androids will shut down.

nah an alternative will be found

Has anyone tried Filego yet? I got the same message from Astro, and started poking around. If you're looking for a free alternative, I'd recommend it. It's got a really sweet drag-and-drop interface for moving files around.

yep this is the end of free astro IMO. New beta expires 5/31. I will gladly pay for this if it is a coup of bucks. There has never been any ads and I use it daily. Great program, great dev.

I have a really old version. Like the icon is different and everything. I tried installing it and it's expired. It's always had an expiration the dev just probably never said it did before he started putting it in market description and everyone freaked.

I love astro but tIe new beta has a couple of issues.

IF looking at lots of images using astro image viewer I'm sometimes getting some that don't load but load correctly in stock albums. in the last version it'd crash if.it couldnt load the image. I noticed its not loading on the same images that it used to crash on. so that's a good improvement

Also once I'd set up a network ftp I get constant force close. I had to uninstall and delete the .astro file then reinstall. I.ll keep using astro but not the network feature. This will hopefully get fixed at some point.

Astro has been around since the dawn of Android with a different name. It has always been a beta app with date expiration. This provides the developer a very important feature.

It forces people to upgrade and the dev knows all users who use the app have the most recent version. Very smart to make a single supported version actually.

As for the beta label, Gmail was a beta application for 3 years. Don't read to much into it.

...But it's so much better to bitch about it sucking so bad that I might actually have to pay for one of the best file browsing apps for the Android OS!

Will gladly pay for Astro - great app that has served me well since November. Dev deserves some coin for the quality.
