ASUS Eee Pad Transformer

I think this will be the tablet I get or the Motorola Xoom if there's a WiFi only version. It's hard to pick between this and the Xoom.

Yeah I like this one too. I heard the price point for the Asus is $399 so what if it does have 3G, does that mean you won't get it? I think if it's $399 with or without 3G, I think that's a good buy.

Just started looking at the Transformer as well tonight. So far one that I am concerned about is what the skin ASUS puts on it might be and how it will be. Knowing that the Xoom is "the" Honeycomb tablet makes it a very tough decision, even if the Xoom is $200+ more expensive. If the Xoom is anything like the Nexus phones then we know it will be getting all of the updates first, and directly from Google instead of through the manufacturer.

It'd be nice if they changed their minds and put on an unskinned version of Honeycomb on it. IMO there really is not point to skinning it since there's really no need to make the UI more "tablet friendly", which is why I'd imagine they felt the need to skin Froyo.

I initially thought that I would be waiting for the G Slate to be released and that I would get that, but since the release of the rumored pricing and the form factor, and did I mention the price? I don't think that I'll get the G Slate. This seems like a big Charlie Sheen "WINNING" all around. I'm almost tempted to wait for the 3G version that is supposed to be coming out.

I just hope it comes out next week. I have a Streak 5 coming tomorrow essentially for free, and I'm going to resist keeping it as a toy and just throw it up on ebay to help pay for the transformer. Figure if all goes well with the Transformer I'll be selling my 12" laptop anyway so I could keep the Streak 5 as a toy. There's only so much room in the gadget toybox.

does anyone know when the 3G version of the asus epad gona come out? man i just looked at the differences in the xoom and epad and i have to say not only is it cheaper but u can get its own dock for it which comes with an extra 6 hours of battery life putting it at a whopping of 16 hours of hardcore internet surfing, games, or just plain playing about no doubt am going home with the epad, the only challenge is can i wait for the 3G version or will i run to the store now and get the wifi someone help me out :P!
