Help Asus Memo pad hd7 touch screen no response

Hi guys,

Purchased to of these hd7 memo pads at xmas for my girls, all of sudden, no bangs ect, screen just locks up on lock screen and no response. Rotate still works, and volume up/down and stand-by button.

Rang Asus uk, very rude, no interest which im quite surprised, currys 3 calls to get someone what spoke english and understood, couldnt give me any time est of repair as i explained it had 3 resets, mainly hard resets and it wont power down as i cant press the power off on the screen.

So its stuck on page 1, choose language and can only stand by it. i've read if battery goes flat, which by time currys have it collected and reaches Asus workshop, its probs going to turn on and back to normal. Thats what im afraid of. I suspect it will come back as if screen been replaced too?

I love the little 7inch tab, my other girls flying..touch wood. Is there anything lagal i can do, there warranty is very keen ive noticed, and what happens if keeps happening cos 2 girls, 6yrs broke, 1o yrs working, so she watching big sis play hers and not got hers but don't want to keep takin back and forth.

Is anyone aware this prob will be repaired or new tablet....new one id prefer as i have back up on sandisk ultra micro card. Im tempted to buy another around same price cos it hurts watching her looking at her sister playing. i think the 28 days return ain't fair tbo. If it wasn't flagging software errors "notification, android dashboard stopped working" in center of screen in small grey rectangle box, blue font...i would have assumed fix/update in due course will fix that...then all sudden...boom, screen locks n thats it.

Do i hang on and will it be a quick fix which should last, or are they prone for this problem and im in for rma...rma...rma...which i don't want. Yet they are bang on for there money..good OS, good stock apps ect and sharp enough and smooth for kids..just build quality i'm wary of??

Any advice would be grateful (sensible course) or is there something upto

As a father, I'd send it back for warranty repair and buy the 6 year old a cheap tablet to have something to play with until her "real" one comes back fixed. And I mean cheap - anything with that screen size. Bought locally. And return it for a replacement any time it shows any problem.

Consider it an expense of raising children to buy a tablet that's only going to be used for a short time (unless you have a use for it), so don't go spending
