Root [AT&T] Apps to SD on S4 (4.4.4)

Want to move apps to the SD Card, but most are factory installed and locked.
Downloaded Kingo to my laptop and tried to root the S4 that way, but no results.
Did the developer option thing and USB debugging is activated.
What app should I use? Phone is 16GB and the SD card is 32GB.
System apps take up most of the 16GB.

Posting a complete model number will help everyone help you as far as rooting. Xposed framework has a couple/few options for apps 2 SD like Xinstaller. Or their are other apps that will do it as well once you have root.

Installed TowelRoot and tried to make it rain....Got error message that says phone isn't supported.
Now what? Aaarrgghhhhh
Did you flash the root kernel from the link then run Towel root and SuperSU? It sounds like you didn't as that error would not happen. I have done this method hundreds of times without issues. After you have done the root kernel, towel root has been ran as well as SuperSU you need to flash the original kernel from the link then all is well.

Please bear with me........
I attempted to do the root kernel with Odin, first on my laptop, then using the Odin app. Error messages both times.
Tried to root without PC app. The phone kernel build date is after 6/3/2014, so installed the Samsung + app as directed. Then did Towelroot. Message said phone not supported. Went on to Framaroot. Aragon and Gandalf both gave me error messages. Try another exploit???????
Why is this so freakin complicated?!@#$%^&&***((*(())_

Ok what errors in Odin? if your referring to the phone after the root kernel is flashed such as health services etc. Ignore that and run towel root anyways then supersu.
Framaroot will not work.

Ran Root Checker Basic app. Message says root access is properly installed. Ran TowelRoot. Message says phone not supported. Ran SuperSU. Got message asking to update SU Binary. Hit continue and installed as normal. Installation failed. Hit reboot. Message says no apps configured. Ready to go to a flip phone......................

OK, it sounds like all is well. Towel root as long as it ran whether it said not supported or not sounds like it did what it needed to do after using Towel root countless times on my end i have seen that happen and it still worked.
SuperSU from what i see from your reply sounds like it's good to go as long as it disabled Knox and says no apps configured it sounds like you ran the mile and crossed the finish line and won!

SuperSU is not going to say no apps configured if it's not rooted and root checker would just plain say no root if it wasn't rooted. SuperSU would error and say if you recently upgraded to whatever version etc. So as long as it says no apps configured it's as good as gold, once you use and Grant a few root apps where it says no apps configured will show a list after a bit, of root apps you granted or denied. I don't use root checker personally, i run adb shell and test root for my devices that way.

So as long as after you were done doing Towel root and SuperSU then booted into download mode and flashed the NJ7 kernel. You are all done and good to go. Uninstall Towel root and send thanks to the dev "Geohot" and thanks to Chainfire for SuperSU. SuperSU must remain on the phone and can be hidden if need be.

Anyways take a deep breath and smile! You have successfully rooted your device and can install apps to move apps 2 SD if that's what you want to do. There are things like Xposed and then Xinstaller that will let you install new apps to SD or other apps i'm sure people on the forum can suggest. :)

I use AppMGR III. It says no movable apps found. All my games are on the SD card, but the big dogs are still on internal memory and can't be moved. I did something wrong. Again. Do I need to boot to download mode manually? Flash what?Maybe I should go find 2 cans and some string..................

Ok you did the Towel root and SuperSU then you should have booted into download mode either manually volume down, home and power with the phone off. Or adb reboot download. Then flashed the NJ7 kernel to get back to normal with root.
Otherwise the phone may run slow and throw errors. The NJ7 kernel is listed in the link next to the root kernel and a few others the only one you need is the NJ7 kernel, ignore the rest. As far as apps 2 SD i in general have seen people move newly installed apps to SD. Using Xinstaller or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix&hl=en

I don't have a external SD on any devices i use currently and my better half doesn't let me use her phone as a tester as she does have a external SD slot. I haven't used any app 2 SD apps personally in a long time...
I do know form prior customers that these 2 apps i suggested do wonders for them. As far as AppMGR III, sorry never have used it, posting a new thread on how to move apps 2 SD may help you get further replies as i see i'm the only one replying to this post, so to get better exposure i would just make a new post about moving games to SD and the moderators will move your post as needed to the proper area. I can help you with whatever root questions you still may have in this thread though.

I've moved this entire thread to the Root - Galaxy S4 sub-forum so that other users can see what's gone before and that way offer best advice to the OP.
