Root AT&T Aria Froyo Rooting?

I am merely a beneficiary of the hard work that others have done at Unrevoked & XDA, but from what I've read, the short answer seems to be no.

There were posts about early attempts to do so, but I haven't seen any recent reports of attempts or success. Check in with those two sites periodically and maybe something new will develop.

Is anyone working on a a root method for the Aria with the official Froyo 2.2 release installed?

Don't install the update. I'm rooted and am currently sporting Android 2.3.3. If you already have updated, then you're out of luck... ...for the moment. I'm sure someone will hack it soon but this firmware update is specifically designed to debunk root.

I wish I didn't install the update. The phone was better before it. I have to restart every 2 days to keep it running smoothly.

If it is not functioning properly (reboots, freezing, etc) and it is a new purchase; perhaps you could exchange it for a replacement? Perhaps the replacement will not yet be flashed to 2.2.
