There should be a link in the article to the XDA thread that will give you more information. From what I have read, you are only switching the radios and this should not affect your ROM.

I just did the radio flash and nothing else on my phone was touched and it works pretty good so far. I ran some tests and both my download and upload speeds increased a good amount. I like how they even give the stock radio just in case

2.7Mbs is a substantial jump for download speed? What were you getting before? Since that's pretty 'normal' to 'low'. I average around 3Mbs to 5Mbs on speedtest

I usually get around 400kbps. Now its getting around 1500kbps

You need to be rooted to flash the radio.

Wrong thread That's the new update you're trying to update to. You got to get ahold of a leak update.zip copy (check XDA) to manually update. That's just the changelog and insturctions how to update once you get the OTA.
