Root [AT&T] Help - Disable OTA update?

Phreedom

Lurker
My OneX is rooted and working just fine. I'm getting the pop-up notifications from AT&T about updating. This last time I postponed it, it said (basically) I'll be forced to update in 8 hours.

is there any way to disable this?

Bear with me here as it's been awhile sense I've ran sense on my phone so I may be a little rusty on the menu options, and also have the Evo 3d. But if you go into settings>software update see if there is an option to uncheck automatically check for updates. If your phone is on JB possibly look for a 3-dot menu within that section as well to see if there are more options.

Edit: Okay, I booted my Gingerbread stock based rom that I have dual booted and the option is as follows: settings>system updates>htc software update - uncheck the "scheduled check" box.

I can't guarantee it is the same on your phone or on newer software but I can only check what I have :/

Thanks Brian

Unfortunately I don' t have

Settings > System Udpates

I only have

Settings > AT&T Software update

And there is no option to disable :(

Brian

AT&T is pushing out 4.2.2 and I don't want to lose root.

FYI I'm pretty package com.redbend.vdmc is the carrier update. I disabled it with Titanium and I'm not longer getting the pop up messages.

I didn't realize you were rooted. Okay, I'm sure there is a way. I will look around some. Also don't worry about losing root. If you have a custom recovery, the ota should fail if it tries to install.
