Root [AT&T] Kernel backup

Android49

Newbie
Hey guy's I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 I337M version running Android 4.3 standard Telcel load. The phone is rooted but everytime I flash any rom on it, it looses sound and sometimes wireless. Gummy is what I wan't to use. Is there anyway I can backup the kernel here on my stock load and restore it on gummy 4.4 when I flash it ? Can the kernel of 4.3 work on 4.4 ?? If so how do I do it ?? Thanks....

Hey there Android49!
I thought your thread would be best suited in your device's root forum, so I moved it here:)

I'm going out on a limb here, but I don't think you can incorporate the stock kernel into that rom.
There may be other kernels that are compatible with that rom but I'd have to search for them.

So you have this sound issue with every rom? Are you wiping per instructions on the rom download site prior to flashing the rom?
Are you checking the md5 of your downloads vs. what the posted md5 is?

Yes, I'm doing all of that and NO SOUND. Sometimes wireless works and sometimes not. Now I have the Stock image and can ODIN it and have everything working if it fails. I can't figure it out. My phone still works in gummy and others but no sound. I thought my speaker had gone south and bought another one but now have an extra cause when I loaded the proper stock image everything worked. I don't like Xperia framework on top of stock. I'm using C Launcher now on top cause I love the search the phone feature. I love that damn gummy though. It really rocks. I wish I could get it to work. I though about trying it again but I have done it multiple times a nd no go. Thanks for the reply and moving the message man...
