at&t navigator auto launches

I've only had my captivate a few days now, and despite the known gps issues I like it.
However, I've noticed that when I receive a text message at&t navigator launches in the background. The video and media players sometimes launch on their own as well.
No complaints about battery life, I only use about half of it in a day. But why would these applications belaunching on their own? (besides the known facts: at&t sucks and I should root the phone.)

Mine randomely opens apps. I have a task killer and Ill just close them.

OP - probably it is a heavy, slow, ATT-style coded app, so ATT decided to run it in background so it is available faster to whoever wants to launch it?
Reason really does not matter - you can't do anything to config that autostart unless you root.
