Root [AT&T] Possible Galaxy S4 ROM Port?

so i'm just wondering, pretty much all of the Galaxy S4's features are all software related, right?

if so, then that means we can hopefully see a port over to our phones once it's available (kinda like the Galaxy Note 2 ports)?

the only thing i can think of that may require the new hardware is the hovering part. perhaps it uses a new camera sensor or something?

over on XDA, i saw a thread for Hyperdrive. has anyone tried this yet? it seems like a bit too many options for my taste to try out. i normally like the flash and go setup, not the whole Aroma choices.

Yeah I tried that rom. Didnt work out. No wifi and had other issues. I ended up formatting my phone after I installed hyperdrive, messed up my phone.

Only other thing i can think that isnt port-able is the Infrared functions. We'l get the rest pretty soon i think
I think the "hovering" thing is part of the digitizer hardware

The hovering is both the screen and the camera plus sensors.
It most likely not possible.

does anyone know what's involved in porting?

back before 4.1.2 came out for AT&T, there were ports of T-mo, Sprint, and Verizon versions. there were also Galaxy Note 2 ports from AT&T.

i kinda understand how a different carrier version can be ported over. but shouldn't the Galaxy Note 2, and Galaxy S4 have the same kinda road blocks for porting?

i'm just wondering why there hasn't been any ports yet.

then again, 4.2.2 TouchWiz is "supposedly" coming out soon for our phones anyways. and then 4.3 AOSP as well.
