AT&T Pre-Order and Release date discussion thread

kupcrazy, i seem to be the only one in this thread in the opposite boat. i preordered at the store.

i'm scared theyre going to hold us off until the 24th, while all you online orders are completed earlier, unfairly.

I preordered at the store also. Two different sales people told me they would be in stock at the store by 10am on the 21st, and that if I preordered I would also receive mine by the 21st. If I somehow don't, you can bet I plan on storming into the store and throwing a fit until they give me one of the ones in stock and let me return the other one once I get it without a restocking fee.

Actually I meant for people who walk into the store on day one - not people who pre-ordered regardless of where. I think pre-orders should all be handled at the same time and in the order of when the pre-order was made. I don't think online pre-orders should be fulfilled first, but I also think that store pre-orders being filled before online would be unfair as well.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. Ordered pretty much right after the premier site went live. I'm just curious how much it is going to cost at&t to overnight ship a million phones? Have they warned ups or fedex to expect a huge influx of packages tomorrow?

Common sense is telling me at&t won't pay for overnight shipping, nor have they warned the shipping agents. I now believe we won't see phones until mid-next week.

I really hope l am wrong though.

I wouldn't worry too much man, when I pre-ordered the HTC One X and Nokia Lumia, they were both were overnight and I received them both on the day I was supposed to.

The only thing that I am worried about is that it has always been a Friday for pre-orders, and the recent rumor about delay.

Back to point, mine has always been sent overnight.
 
I had to wait until last Thursday to pre-order mine, earliest I could do my early upgrade. The rep said they had no info on when they would be shipped but did give me free overnight shipping. It would have to be here Thursday or Friday if the stores are getting them on the 24th. I can't think of any shipper that would do overnights for Sunday delivery. Can you imagine they get into stores before we get ours delivered??? Craziness would unsue.

That isn't odd at all, like others have said in this thread already this is normal. Every phone you pre-order from AT&T will show as backordered, simply because there are not showing in their system yet.

There sure was a lot of talk and speculation about AT&T being the first to mention and bring this to the US market but it looks like Sprint beat it out - at least for the 16GB preorders. I no longer have any faith that these are going out even today.
 
I always love how everyone always freaks out about pre-orders. Mine has changed from pending to processing, still back ordered. This is how it has been everytime I have pre-ordered on AT&T. I am sure later tonight I will get tracking.
 
...ah, there we go, it is now in processing. This only changed within the last 30 minutes or so.

My phone and SIM are now in "Processing" status as well, although it still also says "Pending shipment" in the tracking number field for the SIM (the field is blank for the phone). So perhaps there is hope yet.
