Root [AT&T] Root after OTA update

My phone was rooted before the OTA update and after the update I lost root access.

My question is, would it be okay to root my phone the same way I did it before the update?

I'm new to rooting so any feedback would be great. Thanks!

The Verizon version of the OTA caused root loss, and also caused the "one-click" version of rooting following that OTA to brick some Note 2s.

I did see a successful root by a Note 2 user after the update, as reported on another Android site, but I won't link to it because not enough info was given; not even the carrier or the root method.

Perhaps others will chime in (hope so, as I research some more).

Keep in mind, it's hard to get away from the fact that these OTA updates most often include closing off whatever root exploits they can think of. ;)

I "re rooted" after the last major OTA update with no issues. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary to get it to work again.

After two days since I applied the OTA update from AT&T, I rather wish I had not. The Battery drain is much higher now, I start with 100% battery at 8:00am, and only 50% battery remains at 5:00pm - and with only making one phone call.

Bummed!
