So if I can't move apps and others things to an sd card why bother getting the memory

The SD card is useful for storing all sorts of things like music (MP3s), photos, videos, documents, app data like maps for OsmAnd (does off-line navigation) and so on. And they're cheap. And if you have a card reader on your PC, you can transfer files to and from them really fast.

You should be able to move apps to your sd card (with the most recent update)
