Root [AT&T] several problems that I can't seem to work around...

Hey guys, so I have been having a couple problems with my GS3 lately and I haven't been able to figure them out. I figured I would put them all in one thread to save some forum space and bc they could possibly be related somehow. First, my GS3 won't show up as connected to my PC or mac at all.I am rooted but running the stock ROM (4.2.1). I don't have an option to switch to PTP mode when I pull the notification drawer down, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled keis and AFT on my mac. I have no idea how to fix this so any help here would be awesome because I want to upgrade to 4.2.2 because of my next issue.
My second issue is that I can't get any ROMs to install on my phone. I have tried the cyanogen 10 downloading it straight from ROM manager and it will install but never run because it boots and then says that google apps has stopped and then I'll click okay and then it says setup wizard has stopped. I also tried to put liquidsmooth on via the clockworkmod recovery and no luck there either - the installation is aborted right away. I tried to load the .zip file from my external sd card but it wouldn't mount, so I went back into My Files on the phone and moved it to the internal storage and I could start the install, but like I said, it aborts the installation right away. I'm downloading hyperdrive RSL13 right now to see if I get the same result.
Does anyone know what could be going on here? Is there any shot that I could have messed something up when I was rooting even though the root went through? I'm very good with technology but this is my first android so I'm still figuring everything out. Regardless, I am at a loss here - can anyone help?

PS - sorry for the mini book I just wrote, just didn't want to leave any small details out.

As far as flashing a rom, are you flashing a rom that is made for your carrier?
What is your carrier?

I as going to suggest unrooting by flashing the stock firmware via ODIN but since you cannot connect the phone to the computer, that won't work at the moment.

As far as your phone to computer issue, have you tried another cord or usb port?
Have you tried to reinstall the drivers? (and not with Kies) :)

I assumed that cyanogen that I can download directly from ROM manager was a rom for every carrier bc it doesn't give you a way to specify carrier/device. But, when I was trying to flash liquidsmooth, yes it was for my carrier, which is AT&T.
I have tried 2 different USB cables and every port possible, so I'm guessing that isn't the issue. I haven't tried reinstalling the drivers without going through keis yet, but I'll definitely try that to see if it helps. Thanks for trying to help - if you have any other info let me know.

I've never tried to install a rom with an app such as RomManager.

I would assume it should be able to identify your device and choose the correct rom.

I like to recovery flash roms myself, but that's just me :)

Anyhoo, if you need a link for the drivers, I know I have a link somewhere for them.
Just holler if you need it....otherwise, I can find them and edit this post with a link:D

Edit: found them here:

I know Rom Manager isnt really recommended (for my version of s3 anyway) so maybe just download and flash the rom manualy.
The pc problem sounds like the drivers as Mike says so uninstall and reinstall them.
Dont have Kies and Odin open at same time btw

Just wanted to put an update on my situation up here. So I removed the root on my phone within the superSU app. Went through the internal storage and deleted any folder/file that had anything to do with the root (TWRP, clockworkmod, ROM manager, etc.). I pulled the battery and let it sit for awhile and then put the battery back in. Still can't get it to show up on my computer. I went into settings and just did a factory reset and it's still not showing up. I shut it off and went into recovery mode and the TWRP recovery is still showing up even after I deleted that folder and did a factory reset. I'm pretty clueless as what can be going on here. I just ordered an OEM data cable on ebay because I lost mine but I've been using every other USB cable I can find with no luck. Does anyone have an idea why TWRP is still showing up or what I can do?

TWRP is the recovery and you won't be able to delete it (with the method you described). What you deleted off of your sd card named TWRP, were some files/backups that TWRP stored there. :)

Have you tried to download the drivers to your computer?

Yep, tried the drivers, still no luck. I just posted a new thread about the mess that I just got myself into... If you could look at that and have any idea what I should do you would be saving my ass for sure.
