Root [AT&T] Stuck red Triangle Bootloop Att with OTA update to 4.4.4

You're looking for files with names like -

Rom, radio, firmware, recovery.

Try running the RUU with the phone plugged in, and monitor that file area as you go through each step.

You can also just delete everything there before restarting the RUU.

If the payload files won't unpack from the RUU then that explains why htc_fastboot is dying, yet fastboot getvar all was just fine.

I'm having the EXACT same issue...same phone to the detail....Is there a way I can back up what I have on the phone and fix this?

For me this happened after an OTA update for Lollipop. HTC/AT&T rolled out two updates at once and my phone crashed in the middle I guess. Details of the updates are here:
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-att/news/

I ended up downloading the image update for Lollipop here: http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...06_10.46.1718.01L_release_424933_signed_2.exe

After I loaded this on my M7 it did the optimizing ~260 apps while android is upgrading.....then started, but only saved a few random settings....all my contacts and photos were gone...

Yeah, that's what an RUU does - it's a way to save an otherwise broken phone by replacing the ENTIRE storage contents with the exact factory image.

Moving forward, Helium Backup from the Play Store is your friend.
