    lg g2
Highlight that line with your mouse.

Right click, copy.

New Terminal Window, right click, paste, and then enter.

If you didn't rename it again or move it from when we last talked, that should work just fine.

Do not be in sideload mode for adb push.

Then, install.

Well, i tried method#1 three times with no luck, now i've tried method#2 one time with no luck. I've spent all afternoon on this with no luck, so i have to stop or i'll throw this phone into the Gulf of Mexico. Thanks for trying. My only hope now, is that USB-OTG-Y cable. I should have sent the phone off to LG when this happened last week.:(

So, your last try could be

adb push Downloads/rom.zip /data/media

But without screen output, that's a guess on my part and thanks to iowabowtech for the tip.

Good luck with the new cable.

Hate to say it, but I'll be astonished if it works.

Hope it does!

Are you getting any errors or output from the adb push command that might give us a clue as to why its not working?

edit: i'd not tried the push location of /sdcard on this phone but I was finally able to give it a go now that I'm home. Didn't work on my g2 either. Before you cash in the chips try this:

Go into recovery. Don't select anything.

Open terminal on the mac and prepare to adb push as you've been doing.

adb push rom.zip /data/media

^^that worked for me. This phone may have some quirks.

Your push is going to take awhile. Maybe up to 20-30 minutes. The roms for this thing are huge. It'll tell you when it's done that it moved xxx bytes in xxx seconds. That's how you know.

It's on the recovery!!!! Now, it's in the sd card, so how do i put it in install? The problem was the rom.zip. It's got to have the real name of the rom.:)

It doesn't need the original name. Changing the name doesn't affect it whatsoever. So now just flash it like any other rom. :)

Completely wiped my phone while installing new rom. I still have TWRP recovery, but can't put any recovery rom into TWRP. I guess it's time to buy some USB-OTG-Y cables and a flash drive. Hard lesson learned.:p

WHEN YOU WIPE YOUR DALVIK CACHE IN TWRP, NEVER, NEVER TAP ON "ADVANCED WIPE".

When in Advanced Wipe, only check cache and Dalvik, nothing else.

Advanced Wipe works for many thousands of people.

Only that last one, 20k will work. The first 2 are bin files for full stock restore and the unroofed one won't work here either. That was the problem.

Downloading now. So, if this rom works, i'll delete the others and go from there?:)

I'm not sure I'd do that one either at closer look. Need downgraded bootloader? Try to find a stock, rooted rom of whatever software version you were on prior to this so your bootloaders match. Then just call it whatever the ROM name is when adb pushing so you don't end up with multiple ROM.zips on there which may confuse your recovery.

I'm downloading a rom now(1.7gbs.), but i'm guessing that there's something that's not on the phone, but should be. Maybe we should check my settings?

You should be fine with your working recovery. I'm seeing there are some funky requirements for some of the ATT roms...certain bootloaders, certain basebands in some cases. Sorta tricky to find a good one that matches your stuff but you'd know best on that. Some say custom recovery compatible, what's up with that? Is there something that prevents the ATT variant from just flashing a custom rom in recovery and being done with it?

I wanted to go through an md5 check...

That's always a good idea too. Sorry, missed it earlier. Could certainly check the download on the Mac but not sure how to check it once on the phone. Would he need adb shell to check the phone transfer considering our virtual card is at /data/media? (remembering he lacks root in current state)

I've heard that there were problems with the CDMA phones(Sprint, Verizon), but not AT&T or T-Mobile.

After all that waiting, another fail!! I've used some of these roms before with no problems. Once again, i believe there's something missing from inside the phone, that opens the zip files. I'll sleep on it tonight. thanks for your help.:p

I have no idea how or what you've done in the past.

I certainly don't know what failed again, again, you've provided no details.

I do know that you're wasting your time on the theory that TWRP needs something else to open zip files.

TWRP is designed to install compatible rom zip files.

If it doesn't, then they aren't.

It's not made for other.

I'm still trying to understand how attempting to wipe Dalvik led to wiping the system.

Did you do something else to the phone and didn't tell us?

Anyway - I'm going to wish you best luck at this point.

I did a dalvik wipe, and then an advanced wipe. Don't know why these roms aren't going in, as i've used them before the screw-up. If it's not TWRP, then it's got to be the way that they are being put into the phone. You're probably right that the otg cable won't work, so i'll have to send it out to LG. Once again, thanks for all your help.:p

Just a heads up for EarlyMon & iowabowtech. Thanks again for trying to help me out. I took the phone to the AT&T Device Support Center, but they couldn't bring it back to life, either. They did give me a replacement though. Those OTG cables that i ordered did put a rom into TWRP, but that's it. No way to install it through TWRP. I'll be staying stock for a while, until i get over the shock. I don't want a repeat of my last fiasco.:p
