Root At what point is this applied

When is the one click root supposed to be applied? I Every time i try to do it it says device not found.

isnt it the last step before you are able to put on the roms and kernels?
 
Thats it then. You solved all my problems. I couldnt ask what i was doing wrong because i didnt understand it. So i wrote it all out as i went along. Too many open pages on the pc, messing me up. So i was installing CWR then root. Thats where i am messing up and getting all my headaches.

THIS HAS TO BE IT! i will go through the motions once more. Thanks again.
 
guess it isnt. I have the drivers. Have the files needed and Odin. Installed the DI01 file.

Installed CW through Odin.

Got the drivers on PC.

Put phone to stock.

Place update.zip on card. Bugging and stay awake, enabled.

Try and root and it goes through everything and pushes files but says. error, device not found, after 4 minutes. Then i tried the same procedure with VZW files. Same thing happens.

I got it to root. I didnt do anything different, It just takes multiple times before it catches. Im talking 10 - 15 times before it caught. So i am thinking it is a software issue and phone issue. Not compatible?

Now i saved all my progress. I have Titanium Pro installed.

Here is another place where things get messed up. I flash the rom and the kernels and start the phone. Everything works, But the texting incoming and outgoing will not work. So i am leaving the phone where it is for now. I dont know what i should do from here. I need to have texting abilities.

Texts not working is a result of you most likely being on a dj05 rom and the di01 radio...,look in about phone under settings and tell us what it says
 
I used the
i500-VZW kernel

I used everything VZW to get it to stock so why is it saying DI01 in baseband? Is that right?

Does something change when i use that update.zip file?

Stock would be dio1 as dj05 is unreleased...,try a factory reset in recovery (wipe data) ...,i would imagine that may help...as everything else looks ok
 
im gonna do it now. This scares me! It so long to get it running. lol But i know something is not right, still.

running now. it is stuck on wiping data... screen. I hope it isnt stuck or unresponsive. Im not touching it!
 
reset and restarted. Getting force closes. first on TW screen then on process android media has stopped.

cant do nothing on phone. Popping up all over the place

Battery pull and when you get into stock blue recovery wipe data and cache....then apply update.zip and get into.cwr....wipe data and cache...,reboot and that may take care of your problem
 
I did all that. No more pop ups. The information in 'About Phone" has not changed. So from here i should load saved from SD or do another Root process?

If you never took the dio1 ota but upgraded to dio1 through.a rom the baseband would be dh12...its not a big deal...until dj05 that's what my setup was...if someone really wanted to in that situation you could now flash the.di01 radio in odin....or adryns all in one di01 would do it too
 
Okay. So i am in good shape for now. I will try a flash and see what happens. I think i am at a point finally where i can fix anything that that happens. Thanks for all your patience.
 
It worked and i can text. i used adryns all in one di01 so the build matches the baseband. So from here i save it and back up. Now i can play with other roms and kernels?

now that you have a backup that you know works...you should be good to go

just remember dio1 is dead development wise so be careful that what you flash is meant for it....most stuff out there is for dj05 or now aosp

so if you want to go to dj05 and then eventually revert to your dio1 backup...remember you ll have to flash the dio1 radio to revert all the way back (nandroids cant revert radios)
 
It wont root now. It just gives errors that it couldnt be found, like before. Guerss i will load back the DH12. Oh well. Tired of messin with it
