Atrix 4G $100 Off - $399 off-contract!

I purchased one with a "No contract price" of $268.

I have the same screen, except where yours say "no contract price", mine says "your price". I think it was a mistake for some reason. You just got off LUCKY!!!

For some reason, the site is allowing me to keep my $30 a month unlimited smartphone plan (Smartphone Personal) with my upgrade to the atrix. Can anyone explain this? Will I be able to get hspa+ speeds? Will I be able to tether with no extra charge (like I can now)?

I think you're going to need one of the HSPA+ specific plans. Mine old Data Personal Unlimited generated a message (I posted it in another thread) that this phone was "not compatible with my current plan".

No biggie for me, I really never go over 200-300MB a month, and only when traveling/tethering to I even bump up against 1GB.

"With qualified voice and data plans"
I am assuming that AT&T is going to make you move to a tethering plan @ $45/month and limit your usage to 4GB. I travel and stream data to my phone via my slingbox and it eats up a ton of data. I would hate to have to give up my unlimited data plan and switch to a more expensive limited data plan.

That is if I went for the $100 rebate which would lock me into a 2-Year Contract. I purchased it on the No Contract Price of $268.

WOOOWZA! Damn...that's mighty luck of you!! You should see if you can order a couple more ;) You will make a killing sellin 'em on ebay. lol...Actually I'd ask if you can order me one and I'll pay you back ;) lol.

My account shows 499.99 and instant rebate 100, but after I pre-order and go to check page, it still shows 499.99.....

anyone with same problem too?

I got mine for $399 ($499 - $100 instant). @chrfrancis The company you work for must have negotiated really well with AT&T to get that price. What company do you work for, if I may ask? I know some companies get 25% off of everything (service and equipment). I believe Lockheed Martin employees get 25% off service and 50% off equipment.

I do not work for any company that uses AT&T, I am on my grandparents plan and they were both South Western Bell Employees for 30+ years, so we do get a discount on service, but it has never been with the phones. My company uses Verizon for all of their business phones and they require blackberry devices.

Close, I know somebody who works for them and he tells me all the time about how he gets 50% off of "accessories" but he gets no discount on devices and 25% off of service.

Nice and I guess you will pass this plan onto your kids ;)

Very Nice! I pre-ordered mine yesterday for no-commitment price of $301.50. I could save $100 more if I signed a new 2-year. Not worth it to save $100 though.

I can't wait to get the phone.

It showed $399 in my account but when I go to checkout it jumps to $499. A quick call to customer care got me a $299 price. My rep also mentioned a lot of people were having problems ordering and 90% of the calls she has fielded have been about the Atrix order problems.

Those getting the $168 price...damn you guys are lucky. Assuming you are going to order multiple and sell them on ebay you are going to make a killing, just don't order to many and deplete the stock so the rest of us can't get them.

Bad news is they expect them to ship on the 6th and not to be in our hands until the 8th or 9th.

Has anyone pre-ordered before? Do they take that long to get to us? DO you think they might ship out a couple days early so we get them on the 6th?

How are you guys ordering with a no-commitment price? Every time I experiment with pre-ordering, I can only upgrade for $217.99.

I just spoke to premier and they told me that the 399 no comittment price which includes the instant 100 rebate would extend my remaining contract. I payed 499 instead. Who knows who is telling the truth. All I know is that I do not want to extend my contract.

So I gonna wait a little bit, I believe people who get a lower price like $268 and $100 rebate will sell their phone on ebay soon. lol

Is that true? do you mean to say my contract would extended for another 24 Months??? No way I want that..
I got two option from them $299 for an extension of contract or $399 (after 100 instant rebate) with no-commitmane price so I assume I am not extending my contract..

I would definitely call back to confirm. I was told the $399 would extend my contract. I love how ATT feeds tons of different info. It all depends who you call. Have them notate your account.

From AT&T...

"Requires a qualified 1-or 2-year service agreement for Corporate Responsibility Users (CRU) and requires a qualified 2-year service agreement for Individual Responsibility Users (IRU)."

Speaking with my brother he confirmed that you absolutely have to sign a new contract if you choose to use this rebate. He said it is just them offering the early upgrade option online, but without calling it that. That's why some people can see it and some people cannot. If you are eligible for an early upgrade, you take the upgrade price ($199) and add $200 to it. That is how the price is appearing as $399 and you will once again be signing a new contract. If you do not want to extend your contract do not choose this rebate and purchase it for $499, which is still a hell of a deal for this "superphone". Hope this helps clear up some confusion.

it clearly states no commitment when you purchase the phone at the 399 price.
any extending of contract done would completely unwarranted, and they would be in for a fight if this happens

I hear what you are saying but the way he explained it is you absolutely can get the phone no commitment which is how you are ordering it, but the terms of using the rebate is to renew the contract and upgrade early. It is a very sneaky way of doing things considering you don't even see what the rebate terms are without clicking on the little link. You can feel free to call AT&T to hear what they say first hand, but I believe you will get the same story. He says another sign that it is just the early upgrade is the fact that it says your required to have a 1-2 year service agreement for CRUs, which he says is inline with the early upgrade policies.

except for the fact that people getting an early upgrade were getting it for 300 or less, and if I was going to extend my contract I would have gotten that price
