Root Atrix 4g atrix2 no data connection back to stock rom

I have a atrix2 not a attrix4g. Rooted with victory ROM v1.1. I have no data connection other then wifi. Of course I noobed it and didn't make a inital rom backup. Tried getting another custom ROM -nogo. Tried putting 2.3.5 or 2.3.6 on phone using RSD . ge t error xml format wrong image files associated with it missing.

Go to network settings and there is apn area but not as in my old phone a mobile network selection which lets you have data enabled.

I'm at a point of trying to get a stock ATT rom on for the data.
