Atrix 5MP Camera vs........ (56k=death)

OK, so I d/l'ed the Vignette Demo and what a difference. It must be the camera app. I took two indoor pictures with flash, adjusting for fluorescent lighting in Vignette (@.3 MP only). Guess which one was with the default camera app. :)

What is crazy is how different the flash is, must have to do with shutter speed, ISO???

Yeah, Vignette seems to be a better job, and that's even with the really restricted image sizes in the demo version. I'm tempted to spring for the pay version (~$4) or if there's another pay camera app that would add some additional camera control[?]

This one also has good reviews and looks like it has more control:

Iphone 4 pictures are way over saturated, kinda like the Samsung Galaxy display. People seem to confuse over satuaration with quality for some reason and Apple, Samsung know this.

A pic that I took yesterday, quite frankly its good enough for me, especially when you throw the video camera quality in the mix.

Well some pictures are over-saturated, but that can be easily fixed and is not that common. What is hard to fix is when the image lacks color, clarity, and is very grainy.

First off, do you have an atrix? the pictures are FAR from grainy. Waay more clear and free of noise than my captivate was.

second, color is good and very easy to fix with any application the same way de-saturating pictures is.

camera is not the best, but I would say upper tier of phone cameras at the moment...not nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be the first couple of days

Yes, as it shows in the first post. You can feel however you want about the camera, but it isn't very good. The low-light performance is almost unacceptable.

Can someone post comparaison of the Atrix vs Iphone while using Vignette or Pro Zoom Camera on the Atrix (so we can see if it can do well with a 3rd party app vs Iphone 4?

Thx... Camera seems to be the biggest issue on the Atrix.

The graininess in the pictures that I have taken are all in low light conditions. In better light conditions I have had really good quality pictures. Is the Atrix a phone or a camera?

I agree :) But I would like to see the difference. (The pic of your dog outside is perfect for me).

Ah btw, do you have any issue with the fingerprint scanner?

Issues with the scanner not really, but you do have to be somewhat precise. Its a feature I really like though.

I've been taking pictures with the Atrix and they are quite nice. Not the best camera I've ever used, but they look good enough. Better than other cell phones.
