Hi, I just signed onto this board -- after having ordered a Moto Atrix 4G from Costco Wireless Online for $99.99.
I have a few questions:
After I received my Atrix I was able to set-up at home just fine, and in August 2011, the Android System upgraded via WiFi from Froyo 2.2 to Gingerbread 2.3.4 there is a marked improvement across the board. My only problem was that the GPS seemed to get goofed up immediately after the upgrade; but once I learned to un-select the:
Settings> Location and Wireless Settings> USE Wireless Networks (Unselected here)
the GPS again works wonderfully. This being checked mistakenly gave my location in Georgia not Oregon where I live.
*Note: The USE Wireless Networks is separate and distinct from the main Wireless toggle; in other words you can un-select USE Wireless Networks (location) and still use a wireless connection under the:
Settings> Wireless Networks> WiFi (Selected here)
I have a few questions:
- When the Atrix 4G package arrives here, can I activate it at home and use it once the battery is charged up? ...or..
- Do I need to take the Atrix 4Gto a local At&T Store, to activate it?
- Do they come with the SIM Card in the package, or does it come from an AT&T Store? My last cell was an Unlocked Motorola V3i Razr I don't know how it was activated and set-up as I was out of the country when it came, and someone else set it up.
- Does anyone with the Atrix use "Google Gmail 'Call Phone'" to make calls over the internet? I use "Call Phone" quite a lot, and it is quite helpful for me.
Thanks!
